Following a recent VALORANT update, new gameplay tags for three agents—Gekko, Killjoy, and Raze—were discovered in the game files, as reported by the reliable insider account valohabercisi. While the exact significance of these entries remains unclear, the addition of tags for only these specific agents has sparked speculation about potential future adjustments.

AbilityTuning System

The new lines appear within the game's AbilityTuning system, a part of the engine that separates certain ability parameters into a more flexible configuration setup. By moving values into this system, developers can tweak specific characteristics—such as damage, health, or behavior—without overhauling the entire ability logic. This reorganization may simply be a technical refinement, but it also lays the groundwork for faster iteration during internal testing or future patches.

Agent-Specific Tags

The tags for Killjoy reference aspects of her turret: automatic firing mode, fire rate, and maximum number of charges. Raze's entries touch on the Blast Pack and cluster grenade, detailing the explosion object, the object spawned on satchel destruction, and the cluster grenade's maximum charges. Gekko's Wingman appears with parameters for a health multiplier, capsule size, and altered sound cues. Previously, some interactions—like Blast Pack and Paint Shells—were adjusted through other configuration files, so these new entries could be part of a broader technical update rather than an immediate balance change.

What This Means

Despite the discovery, Riot Games has not commented, and the presence of these tags does not confirm any in-game changes. More likely, they represent internal or test parameters that may or may not be deployed. If implemented, the shifting of values to AbilityTuning would allow developers to quickly modify aspects such as Wingman's health, Killjoy's turret behavior, or Raze's satchel properties in a future patch. For now, the community can only wait for official confirmation or further leaks to see if these agents are indeed being adjusted.
